How to play?

First of all, get yourselves acquainted with the equipment, with the five basic items being a ball, the bat, wickets, the stumps, and the bails. The pitch is delimited by a piece of rope on the boundaries, and in the middle of it is the area known as the wicket, which is where most of the action takes place. At the end of the wicket area, you have the wooden wickets, with the batsman standing in front of them. To score the runs the batsmen need to run between them.

Each team sends two batsmen when they are batting, who wear protective gear. They each try to score as many runs as possible without getting out, and you score run by either running between the two wickets or sending the ball over the boundary. Each time you send the ball over the boundary you can win between four and six runs, with six being awarded if you send the ball without it hitting the pitch first.

Then there is also the fielding team made up of eleven players, with two of the most important ones being the bowler, who is standing on one end and is ready to deliver the ball, as well as the wicket-keeper, who stands behind the batsman to catch the ball if he misses. These are the only other two to wear special equipment, while the other nine don’t, and their goal on the field is to stop the enemy batsman from making runs.

The two teams of eleven players battle each other on the field to score more runs than the other team, and if the team can make the other team’s ten batsmen get out, then that team wins the match. It is somewhat similar to baseball, but one of the main important things about this game is that the rules allow the game to go even for days, with players going to sleep and then returning to continue the match.
