How to play?

For the first three installments of the franchise, you played the role of a security guard at Freddy Fazbear's Pizza, a pizza restaurant filled with animatronic characters and dolls. During the day, they are there to entertain families and children coming to eat pizza, but what they don’t know is that at night, they come to life, and they want to kill everything in sight, mainly you, the security guard.

This is a point-and-click game where the player needs to interact with his surroundings, as well as tools and items around, such as the security cameras, in order to never get caught by Freddy and his gang of evil puppets. Freddy Fazbear is the main antagonist in the series, but there are other evil dolls as well, such as Bonnie the Bunny, Chica the Chicken, Foxy the Pirate Fox, or Golden Freddy.

Common elements through the franchise include the security cameras, which you use to observe the animatronics, or the lights, which can be used to send away the dolls when they approach you, or to signal their approach. While the first three FNAF Games revolve around the pizzeria, with the second game acting as a prequel to the original, and the second one is set thirty years after the events of the first one, the other main games in the franchise adopt new settings and stories. In the fourth game, you are a child whose house is haunted by animatronics, and you mainly use doors to ward them off. In FNAF: Sister’s Location the setting is that of a maintenance facility, and you play the role of a technician who is guided by an AI in his battle against Freddy and his gang.

Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria Simulator manages to take a new turn in the series by having you be the one who runs the pizzeria, as you decorate it and design it in such a way that you can battle the demons, and if you really want to get scared, then you will put on a VR headset and play Five Nights at Freddy's: Help Wanted. In it, you have to solve puzzles and survive, and the fact that it is playable in Virtual Reality makes the experience more immersive and horrifying, no doubt!

The future looks good for the whole series, as there is a new game already announced, called Five Nights at Freddy's: Security Breach, where you have a bigger world to survive in, that of a shopping mall which also includes the pizzeria, with a whole new set of elements being added, and the bigger location surely making for a more fun experience. FNaF World is the franchise’s biggest spin-off, as it is actually a role-playing game, one where you become Freddy and the other animatronics, where you go on an adventure where you take down enemies and unlock new special items.
