Griffin Campbell is the 12-year-old at the center of the story, who moves with his father to a new town, Sulphur Springs, where his dad aims to take an old and decrepit hotel and bring it back to its former glory, a place called the Tremont Hotel.

There are rumors that this place is haunted by Savannah Dillon, a girl that disappeared there 30 years ago. Well, Griffin, together with his new friend from school, Harper, one day finds a portal that allows them to travel back in time to when all this was happening.

What are they to do? Well, of course, they befriend the girl and aim to solve her disappearance and even prevent it, while in the second season we focus more on Harper, who starts going back to 1930, all the while more supernatural things are starting to happen around the hotel and around town.

Shows with time travel don't really appear on kid's television shows, even more so in live-action, which is why we love it that Disney bet on this show, and it seems to have been a good decision, thanks to its popularity.
