In the free driving mode, you can just roam the trucks with no further requirements, just to see if you can fare well through the muddy tracks with your truck, while in the racing mode, you try reaching checkpoints in the 1P mode, or you try beating your opponent to the finish line in the 2P mode.

To do all of this you use the following controls:

Player 1 drives with WASD, L-Shift for NOS, R to restart, F to switch cars.
Player 2 drives with the ARROW keys, R-Shift for NOS, M to restart, and N to switch cars.
