You click and hold the left mouse button to extend a bar, which you need to put over the pits, in order to reach the other rock. You need to not make it smaller than needed, or bigger, because if that happens, you might fall into the pit, or not even get to do so. A dinosaur is chasing you, so each time you extend a bar wrong, you get eaten, and have to start all over again. Instead, if you advance, and grab items along the way, you raise your score, which we are sure you want to be big. Good luck, and have fun!
